PROFESSOR GUIDO FERRARINI ELECTED VICE CHAIRMAN

Brussels, 30 June 2003. Professor Guido Ferrarini, Professor of Law at the University of Genoa, a Founder member of the ECGI and a Board member since the Institute’s inception, was unanimously elected by the board to be Vice Chairman of the Institute.

A lawyer, he was admitted to the Supreme Court of Cassation. He is the author of several books and articles in the fields of financial law, corporate law and business law. He is an advisor to the Corporate Governance Committee of the Italian Stock Exchange and a member of the Board of Trustees, International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC). He is a Board member of Telecom Italia S.p.A. and Autostrade S.p.A.

Professor Ferrarini is Director, Centre for Law and Finance and Honorary Professor, Faculty of Law at University College London.

Commenting on the appointment, Antonio Borges, Vice Chairman, Goldman Sachs International and Chairman of ECGI said “This honour reflects not only his distinguished scholarship on legal aspects of corporate governance but also the contribution that he has made towards the establishment of the ECGI.”
